Bala Wala Chi
The visual concept for this project is built upon the Ziad Rahbani song "Bala Wala Chi" (meaning "without anything"), which embodies a philosophy of creating beauty, meaning, and value out of simplicity, found objects, and resourcefulness.
Project Scope and Philosophy
"Bala Wala Chi" Meaning: The core concept represents the art of "making something out of nothing," a minimalist and bohemian approach that celebrates the beauty of repurposed items, vintage finds, and creative improvisation.
Idea Creation: The branding and visual strategy bridge the gap between high-concept artistic expression and accessible community interaction, turning a simple "garage sale" into an experiential "culture pop-up".
Visual Merchandising
Atmosphere: The space is curated as a "garage boutique," utilizing raw, industrial settings—such as tool walls and minimalist worktables—contrasted with curated, warm, and eccentric objects like antique chests, art mannequins, and vintage fans.
Display Logic: Merchandise is displayed with a sense of deliberate disorder, using branded price tags to unify disparate, found items into a cohesive collection.
Event Planning & Stationary
Event Identity: The project functions as a traveling or transient event, promoted via street-level posters and urban advertising that emphasize local cultural engagement and the "culture pop-up" experience.
Stationary Suite: The brand identity is extended through a clean, professional stationary set—including letterheads, envelopes, and business cards—that contrasts the rustic nature of the merchandise with a structured, elegant, and modern design aesthetic.
